The idea was to understand and internalize how the masters do it, but with our own personality and creativity. It was a great exercise that I have used over and over in all kinds of areas of my life, not just writing. Any time I have wanted to learn a new skill, stepping in to the shoes of those that do it REALLY well has always helped me to understand where I want to end up.

Schools Expanding Green Career Degree Options

Colleges and universities are responding to a surging interest in green careers by offering more opportunities for degrees in sustainability. “The past few years, society as a whole has become increasingly interested in sustainability,” said Julian Dautremont-Smith of the Association for Sustainability in Higher Education, who was quoted in USA Today. “Higher education has been swept up as well.”

The University of Colorado at Boulder’s Initiative for Sustainable Development (ISD) educates, activates and unites stakeholders from across the University, the West, and the nation in pursuit of the best ideas, practices and policies in the growing field of sustainable land use and real estate development. The Director of the Sustainable Development Initiative will develop an interdiscplinary initiative within the Real Estate Center that creates a center for Sustainable Development and Growth Management, including an academic program to teach growth management and sustainable development principles and practices.
