There has been an increase in senior-level corporate positions—those with VP and Director titles in the CSR and sustainability sector. Companies are placing an increased value on CSR as a component of corporate strategy, which elevates the importance of positions overseeing CSR. The emergence of the CSO title is indicative of the growing trend of sustainability as a core business strategy.“CSO” is a title that senior-most CSR executives will increasingly carry.

And apply different values to that one company, depending on the moment. If we could help stakeholders to see the inconsistencies in their own value judgments we would be making a start at closing that gap.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Ceres, a US coalition of environmental and investor groups, today called for submissions to the ninth-annual Ceres-ACCA North American Awards for Sustainability Reporting. The purpose of the awards program is to acknowledge and publicize best practice in reporting on sustainability, environmental and social performance by corporations and organizations and to provide leadership to those companies that are publishing or intend to publish sustainability reports.
