INTERNSHIP SPOTLIGHT: North Carolina Wind Energy Summer Internship

The Coastal Wind Initiative at the North Carolina Solar Center provides education and outreach on wind energy technology to communities in coastal North Carolina. The Wind Energy Intern will help with the development and delivery of the program’s outreach campaign, including assisting with public workshops, updating factsheets, and managing website content.

GREEN INTERNSHIP SPOTLIGHT: Intern for ISC Programs and Development Teams, Montpelier, VT or Washington, D.C.

The Institute for Sustainable Communities seeks candidates for 2 internships based either in ISC’s Montpelier, VT or Washington, D.C. office. Interns will support ISC’s Program Team and monitoring and evaluation staff on a range of projects, including: 1) developing a U.S.-based program on Climate and Environment; 2) compiling and editing materials for inclusion in a database about ISC’s impact; 3) updating contacts in our database; and, 4) drafting ‘performance stories’ about program successes. This is an ideal opportunity for a college or graduate student who wishes to gain exposure to international development, in the areas of civil society advocacy work and environment and climate programming in the United States and internationally, and to explore a career in the nonprofit arena.

Internship Spotlight: E+Co 2009 Summer Social Enterprise Consulting Internship

The intern should address how Toyola and Katene can completely saturate the efficient stove markets in Ghana and Mali. his will require an analysis of private sector industry growth potential. More specifically, E+Co hopes to leverage Toyola’s and Katene’s organizational strengths and anticipated carbon revenues to quadruple sales over the coming year. Students will be asked to identify barriers to industry growth and propose solutions to overcome those barriers. This could include, but should not be limited to investigations around mechanization, broadened distribution channels, marketing, industry growth bottlenecks, pricing sensitivity analyses, etc.

Ceres is seeking a small number of dynamic, committed interns who would find it exciting to be at the center of one of the most effective corporate social responsibility groups in the world. Ceres interns support program staff working with a wide variety of constituents within the Ceres network: environmental activists, investors, funders, and corporations. While providing some administrative support, interns will primarily work in one of the following areas using skills in research, project coordination, IT and communications.
