This conference will investigate the history of urban futures across many time periods in several Metropolitan areas and countries. The Program Committee is seeking submissions for panels, roundtables, and individual papers on all aspects on urban, suburban, and metropolitan history. The Committee is requesting sessions on the host city, Las Vegas, focusing on its history of rapid, expansive growth.

The U.S. Department of Energy-Office of Biological and Environmental Research (BER) funds the Global Change Education Program (GCEP) to promote undergraduate and graduate education and training supportive of the Department’s global change research activities. A new report entitled Global Oil & Gas – The Adaptation Challenge has identified top five impacts of climate change to the oil and gas industry. While three quarters of the world’s oil and gas companies surveyed believe climate change could impact their business, only 19 percent are taking action as noted in this report.
