Anthony Star is the Director of Policy and Evaluation for CNT Energy. He came to work at the Center for Neighborhood Technology, CNT Energy’s parent organization, in 1996 and coordinated research projects and conducted outreach on pollution prevention programs for small businesses. Since 2000, he has been involved in the management, planning and development of community-based approaches for energy efficiency and demand reduction programs. This has included the development of innovative residential real-time pricing programs as part of a strategy to reduce peak energy use and lower household energy bills. Currently that work is being used to inform the policy decisions around the deployment of the smart grid.  Mr. Star has a B.A. in history and an M.A. in social sciences from the University of Chicago. He serves on the Boards of the Chicago Recycling Coalition and the Illinois Environmental Council.
